BRUNO BOSSISSome reflexions on analysis of the artificial vocality : representations, tools and prospective.AbstractHow can musicologists comprehend electroacoustic music ? With which tools ? What's specific about the analysis of artificial vocality ? Can we imagine new tools suitable for the analysis of electroacoustic music, particularly when artificial vocality is involved ? From these questions arise several difficulties. The first relates to the modes of representation and the analysis methods of the mechanical voice. Moreover, the disparity of the tools used by composers, musicians and analysts, imposes an inventory of tools in the form of a typology. To classify disparate elements can be a good method of questioning their meaning. Lastly, it is tempting to divert the expression "comparative analysis". To compare automatically various representations of one piece can help imagine new approaches to analysis itself. Breaking away from the relative blindess caused by the specialization and the rigidity of the tools available is becoming urgent, in particular for artificial vocality. |
