Musical Notation and Multimedia Standards

Abstract

The purpose of this talk is to present the efforts made by the MusicNetwork to include musical notation in multimedia standards. A review of previous attempts in this domain is presented, as well as a review of the main actual projects.

We present the actual proposal of MusicNetwork in MPEG, and we make a punctualization about the actual state of this proposal. A review of expectations, requirements, and possible applications is also made.
