Roger LenoirResearcher, FNB, Amsterdam Born in 1972, Geleen, Roger Lenoir studied Music Science at the University of Amsterdam and Music Technology at the High School of the Arts of Utrecht (Hilversum). In 1998 he received his BA in Music Software Development (summa cum laude) and electronic music composition from the latter. In 1998 he also received his MA from the University of Portsmouth in Music Software Development (summa cum laude) with his thesis named : "Representing Musical Expression in computer systems". He has worked for several years in the Internet Business as an Internet Application Architect and programmer specialised in Content Management Tool development next to being a guest lecturer at the High School of the Arts Utrecht specialised in abstract music representation techniques and modelling. In 2000 he became a member of the research department of FNB, where his activities focused on the development and implementation of new computer models of sound and music for provision of (musical) information to vision impaired users.
