Simon AtkinsonComposer, sonic artist and teacher Simon Atkinson is Lecturer and a Member of the Music, Technology and Innovation Research Group at De Montfort University. He has worked as a composer, performer and educator in a diverse range of contexts, and is particularly committed to the composition and performance of electroacoustic music. He sees as crucial the development of the scholarly understanding as well as public appreciation of this music. To these ends he is co-director of the EARS project, actively involved in community-based and access music projects, and is a founding member of the Scottish collective invisiblEARts, in addition to his activities as a composer, sonic artist and teacher.
